Like many businesses in our sector, Schmidt experienced a challenging period over the past year. A difficult global market environment placed pressure on operations and required us to reassess our path forward. We would like to sincerely thank our customers, suppliers, and partners for their continued support and understanding during this time.
Today, we are firmly focused on the future. As of 1 November 2025, Schmidt has been acquired by Aspen Pumps Group, a global leader in accessories for air conditioning and cooling systems. Following the acquisition, we now operate under the name Schmidt Plastics GmbH.
This step provides a strong foundation for long‑term stability and growth. Aspen Pumps Group brings international experience, financial strength, and a clear commitment to investing in and developing the business. Aspen already operates plastic injection molding facilities in the United Kingdom through its subsidiary Masona Plastics. With the addition of Schmidt Plastics in Germany, the group expands its European manufacturing footprint, enabling it to serve customers in Germany and across mainland Europe more efficiently and locally.
Headquartered in the United Kingdom, Aspen Pumps Group employs more than 800 people worldwide and operates from approximately 25 locations, providing a solid platform for sustainable growth.
As part of this partnership, Aspen plans to invest in Schmidt Plastics by expanding machinery, production capacity, and operational capabilities. The focus is on strengthening the existing business, servicing and expanding relationships with our existing customers, retaining our skilled workforce, and growing sustainably as the business develops.
Operational excellence is a core value of Aspen Pumps Group. Together, we aim to position Schmidt Plastics GmbH as a center of excellence for high‑quality plastics manufacturing in Europe and to build a strong, long‑term presence in Emsbüren.
We are pleased to confirm that Schmidt Plastics GmbH is fully open for business. Operations are business as usual, and our teams are focused on continuing to deliver reliable service, quality, and capability to our customers while developing new opportunities for growth and collaboration.
